Payment of Tuition and Fees

All new learners will receive information about their tuition deposit upon receipt of the Admission Offer Letter from Algoma's PACE Division confirming acceptance to their selected program.

Please note that the Admission Offer Letter is ONLY valid after your full payment of the tuition deposit and providing proof of your payment.

All international learners should pay their tuition deposit BEFORE submitting a Study Permit application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Payment Deadlines

As the Centre for Continuing Education does not send invoices for tuition and fees by mail or email on a regular basis, it is the responsibility of learners to ensure that all due amounts are paid on time. Learners can review their account balance via the Student Portal, which is the gateway for all services available to Algoma learners upon admission.

New learners applying to Algoma PACE graduate certificate programs for fall intake have to pay the tuition deposit by June 14th or at another date if specified in their Acceptance Offer Letter. Please also see the Application Process page for tuition payment deadlines for Winter and Summer intake.

Available Payment Methods

Upon receipt of the Admission Offer Letter, learners will be assigned a nine- digit identification number providing learners access to the Student Portal. You will need this number to identify your payments through the Student Portal.

Bank Account Transfer

Domestic and international learners with a Canadian bank account can add Algoma University as a "payee" to arrange payment, using their nine- digit learner identification number as the account number.

Credit Cards

Domestic and international learners can pay by credit card through the Student Portal under Financial Section by selecting the Make Payment option. We accept Visa, MasterCard, or American Express payment cards.

Convera Global Pay

Payment through Convera Global Pay (former Western Union) is available for international learners only who wish to pay fees in their home currency. Please contact our Student Account Officer at 705.949.2301, ext. 4723 or email accounts@algomau.ca for additional details about this payment method.

Refunds

According to Algoma's policy, learners can only request refunds before the 14th day of classes. This also applies to international learners who have received a visa refusal letter from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) after their acceptance for PACE programs.

How to Request a Refund

Algoma PACE continuing education learners can request a refund by contacting Student Accounts at accounts@algomau.ca.

International learners who were refused a Canadian visa or Study Permit need to provide a copy of the official visa refusal letter issued by the IRCC.

Please note that no refund of tuition and ancillary fees will be granted if the request and/or the copy of the visa refusal letter are submitted on or after the 14th day of classes.

For more detailed information about possible scenarios for both domestic and international learners related to requesting refunds, please visit the Refund Page on the Algoma U website.
