Better Access to Education

PACE at Algoma facilitates access to education to better contribute to the community, businesses, and industries by extending the university's learning programs. The Professional and Continuing Education division offers learning opportunities to people who would otherwise not have such access.

Learning from Each Other

Extending the special mission of Algoma to make education accessible for all, the PACE division cultivates cross-cultural learning between Anishinaabe communities and the world. Our programs for continuing education offer unique opportunities available to Indigenous and Black youth, as well as to other groups within Ontario.

Strengthening the Community

By providing better access to education and developing an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning environment, PACE at Algoma strives to promote the priority of reconciliation and healing in Canada. We are committed to moving forward the Anishinaabe vision for education on this land to bolster cross-cultural learning and teaching.

When everyone has access to education, they can better contribute to their families, organizations, and communities they are a part of. By offering programs for continuing education, Algoma's PACE division aims to strengthen economic and social grounds, encourage upskilling, and create flourishing communities.

Ensuring Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Algoma University's focus on cross-cultural learning and the framework of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion serves as its key differentiator from other educational institutions around the globe. In developing educational programs for lifelong learners, PACE at Algoma acts on the same principles to create opportunities to learn from and with each other in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
